At Swimdogs we wanted to give dog owners another great way to exercise their furry friends. Something that’s quick and simple, suits all dogs and is just a lot of fun.

Swimming gives dogs an excellent workout with many experts citing a 5 minute swim is equal to a mile walk! It’s low impact on their joints and in a pool there’s no worry of them coming into contact with something they shouldn’t like in a lake or river.

Taking inspiration from the Cheltenham Lido’s dog day and after seeing some amazing dock diving, we settled on the idea of SwimDogs.

Opening in the spring of 2020 we set up a 32ft above ground swimming pool with a custom made platform and ramp so owners can introduce their dogs to water gently or let them dive right in. Session’s are half an hour long and cater up to four dogs at any one time.

We’re a small business with Jayne at the helm, backed up by husband Steve and son Chris who are always on hand to make your visits run smoothly.

Jayne has had a lifelong love of dogs, competing for many years in UK Agility with her collie Misty. We also have spaniels Morgan and Maxi who love to swim and can be great encouragement for other dogs if it’s their first time.

Based in the parish of Tibberton we’re only 5 miles from Gloucester town centre and easily accessible from the A40.
